Agree it's the best thing, Kathleen. I am Irish, so I know a bit about the Troubles and the peace process. And having a very close Jewish friend, I know a bit about the history of the State of Israel. My conclusion after reading:

It's on the Palestinians, as it was on the Catholic Irish Republicans, to accept Israel's right to exist. This is the key. How can that acceptance happen? The author says, "It is wholly possible to accept that the founding of Israel imposed great injustice upon a significant number of Palestinians and that, after events elsewhere, it was also a moral necessity." Both are true. Both truths would have to be accepted and acknowledged - for the Israelis, the injustice from the founding of Israel; by the Palestinians, the moral necessity.
